336 hours, 14 days, 2 weeks... at the end it's all the same!

I’m calling this “the final countdown” period… yes like the song…

Let me explain.

I didn’t post much about this on my blog, but I’ve been keeping a little calendar in my purse of when Stephane returns. He left overseas to Egypt May 16 and he’s back on Aug 25. Yes 3 long months. After 8 years ½ together... always side by side, let me tell you... it’s not a walk in the park for sure. But I truly think I made the best out of it. Technology {insert my life saver Skype} helped tremendously to keep in touch + facebook for all the photos. Then all my Friends… SERIOUSLY…Thank you to all {insert Hugs, HUGS and H.U.G.S even to you Ham & Natasha!}…that listen to me ramble about it, cry about it... Your support was amazing. Some even offered different “Hotel” type accommodations with their guest bedrooms if needed and I knew I was always just a phone call away at whatever time of day/night.

So in that calendar, I logged the 101 days, the weeks and when a month was completed how many days that was in total… Religiously every start of my day I MARK the previous day with a BIG X in sharpie (hated that smell at the start, but now knowing it’s so close to the end, loving it oh so much more). Once he’s back it will go in my Smash journal for sure.

I didn’t have anything much creative to share today, but wanted more to share the “stuff between the two slice of bread” (ok imagine a sandwich… So that would be what is filling the bread…) basically what I felt inside… Mmmm do you get the picture!?!?!?! Lol... ok I am finding my self really funny right now and I know my closest friends are probably laughing right about now… about it also! Priceless Stephaniesme!

Here's a few more layouts that I made since the past week. Loving the Punchanella... can't you tell! On the first layout I actually used it as a stencil with the Pumice Stone Distress inks, used also a Prima mask with some glimmer mist and applied the paint with a old card.

With this one I used it with the Glimmer Mist and once again applied the paint with a old card.

Finishing up Layouts

This past weekend I stayed home. Felt really good.... no plans, just time for me. The past months I've been working hard with Super Tornado Tammy to get organized. Doing that I found like 9 layouts that I had started at crops that where never finished because I didn't have either something to do the title.... or that perfect thing left home.

So I managed to finish 5 of them during the weekend! Yeah! So I have a few more to do and projects also that I need to tackle from events that were hosted at the store.

Art Journal Class series 2.0 at the Scrapbox!

We had such a great demand to start a new group and here's what's going to be made during the first class. If you wondered what Art Journaling was all about, this is the class for you! This is a series of 3 classes, starting on August 10th. Learn TONS of techniques that you can use on any scrapbooking page, or mixed media project and have fun doing it.

Here's the next installment of the very popular All About Me Series! I was so happy to be reunited with my brother and sister during my 2 weeks vacations... we took many pictures and we had allot of wonderful family time all 3 together reunited!

We will be using Basic Grey papers from both the Lauderdale & Out of Print and Glimmer Mists, Glam and Pewter Crackle paints to create our backgrounds and also Copic Markers to give a dash of color to Rhinestones!

Geneviève (She) & Pat (He) painting

Today I surprised my Colleague Geneviève with this painting as a wedding gift. She is getting married this Saturday and since the past month I was secretly playing "20 questions" asking her all the details of her dress and what her Mr. man was going to wear. They are going 50' style, very unconventional as they are both wearing black, but totally charming and ohhhh so matches their personalities! This was my first try at making the "She paintings" from Christy and loved it! Planing many gifts for other friends now! (The only sad part now.... is that since the last details were provided, her future hubby decided to shave his Go-T for the weeding.... ahhh well!)

The special part of her wedding "Fascinator" is jewelry of her grand-mother that past away last year, beautiful feathers and Black and Hot Pink lace.

Can't wait to see her wedding photos when she comes back!

I wanted to do this since a week now….

My sister arrived 2 Monday's ago with her little ones for the summer! We had a fun family weekend, filled with quality time and good “re-bonding” moments! We didn’t see them since a year and boy did they grow up since that time. Sebastiano is a little boy full of energy, remembered all our names from our Skyping times, understands French but communicate more in Italian and loves anything TRACTOR, so sweet boy. Little Sophie is a pure delight! She loves everybody and loves that her “Ninie” (Stephanie in short) takes loads of pictures! What a cutie pie! Can’t wait to see them back in 1 week!

Have a fun weekend! Tomorrow nothing major planed but watching the Canada Day festivities on TV and transforming the living room in a Art studio. So much to do.... classes, art journals, special project for a colleague getting married.

Weekend fun!

Totally a fun weekend!
Friday was the Free Make & Take and we had allot of fun playing with the Perfect Pearl Mists & Distress Dabbers. Saturday I was teaching in the afternoon the "Portrait Organizer Drawer" in the afternoon and for the evening we had a get together for some yummy Raclette at Luce house with Loulou and respective hubby's. Great laughs, food, drinks and scrumptious desert! i had a sleepover planned and we went to bed way too late!

Sunday we had an improvised day and decided to go on a little road trip Luce and I. We ended to stop at a wonderful Antique store in Wendover that is in a barn. Lise-Anne was a marvelous host and we stayed over 2 hours just enjoying every little bit of her treasures! Here are my finds: An original stamp carousel that will be great for my Tim Holtz ink applicator, A 10" tall Mason Jar full of buttons, wood tread spools, open stock mix buttons & Rhinestones and a 1923 "Stylistique Française". Great finds! I must say that you never know what you can find by just looking around our nice roads by spotting the perfect thing!

Yesterday night watched Country Strong with Garrett Hedlund, Gwyneth Paltrow, Leighton Meester and Tim McGraw, was really good.

I am now ready for a new week, my sister is arriving tonight in Montréal from Italy with her little ones Sophie and Sebastiano!!!!! Can't wait to see them next Friday! She will be passing the summer with us until the end of August! I know I will be "Photo clicker happy" this weekend and all summer!

Crate Paper Address Organizer class

A weekend with Donna Downey

2 weeks ago The Scrapbox was hosting an event with Donna Downey. What a weekend! 2 days in her marvelous compagny! Great to see her again and we pretty much pick up where we were 2 years ago.

We went to the airport to pick her up, had lunch at The works, then a store visit, prepping the venue, Friday Album's Class and diner at East Side after. Mellisa was spending the weekend at my place, so was great to go back home and chat about our day. The following morning came way to quick for me {insert about 4h30 of sleep}, made a couple of errands in the morning and had our 2 Saturday classes. Diner & drinks at Lone Star to finish our weekend and what a hoot it was! We kinda advised that it was "Mari-Jo" birthday {aka Donna} and the staff gave her the full birthday treatment! It was pass "Cinderella time" when we left the restaurant and got to hang with Donna until the weeeeeeee hours of the morning chatting and reconnecting. Special times and until we meet again! I really hope to go to her studio the next time!

Once my projects are finished.... I'll post pictures!

We all have at least one important man in our lives, and that could be our husband, father, sibling, child or even an adorable pet that ties us to sanity in this crazy world! This is a great way we can honour the men in our lives without letting them know how much we need them!

Friends - layout to share

Here's a layout I created 2 Friday's ago at the "Box" during the Friday crop. Using the Jenni Bowling April kit + a few of my personal little add-ons (buttons, stick pin, glitter leaves, felt border, butterfly.... flower). It was a slow start to the evening arriving later than usual, but very happy with the result!

Not having much to "share" in the Scrapbooking department today, but after this upcoming weekend I am sure I will be coming back next week with some fun things that I made. This weekend we have our National Scrapbooking Crops over at St-Mary's and just can't wait to get creativity shine after all that rain! Some good times with the girls ( like OVER 50 ladies on Saturday), it's our biggest crop yet!

Have you ever stop and listen to this talented Brit Girl? Adele is her name and I just can say - wow! Love her! She's 23 today! She is so powerful, soulful... a beautiful real woman.

My top 4 favorite songs of her right now are "Make You Feel My Love", "Rolling In the Deep" and her interpretation of "Alone" & "Love Song"

On a Thursday morning - Random little things!

Trying to find a blog routine is not always easy! Do you have tricks.... please share! It's the "time" factor that I find sometimes hard to manage! Ever ending battle! So I thought to share 11 random things today.... (why 11... not sure... just go with it!)

1- One year older, last Friday on Earth Day, I turned 35! That number was bugging me a bit... but now I am getting over it. My weekend was filled with great surprise! Got my first ever laptop from Stephane, he pulled "the leaving the box between the 2 front doors and ringing the door bell and running to hide" trick.... I was totally surprised and he looked at me with a little grin asking "hope you don't mind it's not wrapped...!"
2- Friday went to the States with Mag, Max & Stephane (mmmm not the best idea we ever had) {insert 3hours for a 2 km distance to cross the border}, but we were really enjoying our selves... a true Comedy Show Stephane style (for those that know how he can really play it up....), laughing at what we should anwser the custom officer when we would arrive at the gates... "mmmm... Well we had planned to go for breakfest and some shopping, but now we kinda think we only have time to have diner at the next exist and come back".... Silly questions once again, I truly think I should write a short story of crossing the border and what questions we get.... seriously.
3- Good Easter weekend at home, my parents prepared me a great birthday supper with all my favorite things. Miam miam . Love you and thank you!
4- It's official my sister is coming over from Italy this summer with her 2 little ones for 2 months! Can't wait, fun things planned for that period of time and she is even planning to come for a weekend here in Ottawa. YEAH!
5- Last night was a blast. I was teaching the first class of my Art journal series. We wanted to keep the class size more limited to 9 participant for the 3 month duration (more manageable with the supplies & tools). All 9 ladies had so much fun, "Zen moments" and pure creative bliss.... A evening full of new techniques and playing with different medium. They were all sad that the next class is in a month. We did 4 pages and finished on the dot at 9. Going in, I was a little nervous as it was my first time teaching this type of curriculum, but all went well. Found the best way to distribute paint to all - Dixie Cups! Just perfect. I think we may have a potential other series here... lets see what time reserve for us!

7- Creative update: Art journalling: I have to continue Sharon's Art journal tonight...as I know a certain Rosa is really hoping to receive it soon (sorry for the delay).
Scrapbooking: Well I have a pile of layout that I gathered wile organizing my craft bags & room... that I found that were incomplete... like 7 or 8 of them. Good treasure to find. They are all in a nice pile right now and it's just the perfect thing when you have just a couple minutes and you are looking for something creative to do! Most of them were started at crops during the past year and I was missing stuff to complete them. Hoping to find a couple of those extra minutes over the weekend to get them finish! Classes: On my list of my May classes - I have a Card Class using vintage images that I purchased from one of my favorite etsy store. Thanks Elise. Little sweet baby angels and friends really precious. And I also have my Teresa Collins Notation Album using also the Time Pieces collection to complete.
8- Fun stuff happening at the Scrapbox in the next weeks! Our Mega crop on National Scrapbooking weekend, Scrapbox Garage Sale on the 14 (need to focus on that as it's creeping up soon) and then June 3 & 4 miss Donna Downey is coming to town and I just can't wait!
9- Spending lost of time with my sweetheart Mr. Stephane♥, May 16 is approaching too fast.
10- Received two fabulous birthday gifts from some very special girlfriends in my life. One from Loulou that registered me to Christy "She Art class" (can't wait to buckle down and do one) and one from Linda O to the "She had 3 hearts class" also from Christy Tomlinson. The perfect Creative gift! Thank you ladies!
and 11- Leaving you with a quote that my last night ladies liked: Life is what happens to us while we are making other plans....

Art journal Class series at the Scrapbox

Even if this class series is now sold out at the Scrapbox, I wanted to share some of the pages I have created for the class and we have much more to come!

During this series we will be exploring various mediums such as Acrylic Paints & Distress Inks, Crackle Paints, Distress Stains, Glam, Glaze, Embossing Powders, Glimmer Mists, Smooch Paints & Sprays and creating each pages with multiple Application Techniques, Stenciling, Masking, Dry Brushing and so much more. To keep our Art Journal as flat as possible and to be able to work on each page, decorating the cover will be done at the last class.

This series comes in 3 parts, with an optional 4rth workshop at the end (more on that later). The dates are as follows:

Wed April 27th at 6pm - 9pm

Wed May 18th at 6pm - 9pm

Wed June 15th at 6pm - 9pm

Little Yellow Bicycle Twig Album Class

When I saw this release in January, I knew I wanted to make a mini with it. This was boxed since we received it at the store beginning of February and I was just waiting for Spring to show case it! Using the Twig Collection Album from Little Yellow Bicycle as a base of the album, we will think out of the box when creating it (you don't always need to follow directions!)

In the tones of Blues, Greens & Brown pretty much any type of pictures can be showcase in it (I used my recent Boston pictures of Landmarks & Parks), but you can most certainly use it for your favorite pet, little Boy or Girl, pictures of your love ones ore great Spring pictures of Nature!

Without a doubt Tim Holtz is a huge influence at The Scrapbox and every few months we just need to have a Tim Holtz Tag Class. Bo Bunny "Gabrielle" - class layout

Here's one of my favorite layouts I made for a class. The beautiful Gabrielle paper collection from Bo Bunny was really the best to use some of my childhood family pictures. Taken almost 30 years ago, my mom made our dresses and the little outfit for my brother (reminiscence of the house in the prairie style). On the right layout from left to right it's me, my sister and my baby brother (look at those curls)! It's truly a series of photos special to my ♥. Pink Art Journal - part 2

Here are the latest pages from my personal Art journal, the ones I completed over the weekend at the crops at the Scrapbox! Filled up with precious items that i was saving for the "special thing"! I added a touch of red here and there.... pink is made from red so it's works! I am trying not to set rules when creating the pages except the pink colors used!

This following one was my favorite that I created over the weekend!

Trash for some is little treasures for others....

I counted that I have 11 double pages or 22 mini single pages create to have my Art journal complete! Right now I have 7 single ones started on the 22, just back papers & paints.

I have a basket near my work station with of embellishments, scraps of papers, little things I have collected to use. It's such a fun process!

Happy Tuesday! What's new with you? The above statement will be my mantra for the week! What is yours? Nothing creative to show today, but I am fully engaged in the process. I had and will have some busy days ahead...but will remember the above to get me there! This past Saturday we had the Scrapbox on "wheels" for the crop at Renfrew. To pack up the final items we had to be at the store at 6h45 and came back at 9h30 {it makes for a very long day}. Sunday my "A" team Tammy and Loulou came and helped me organize my crafts areas for almost 9h {thank you... Thank YOU ladies}. Last night I worked on my February Album class with the Sweetness collection from Pink Paislee (see upcoming newsletter from Jenn with a little peek), then actual sample will follow at store Thursday. Tonight working on the Peace Keeper receipt holder sample for the Debby Schuh event we are hosting in March * click on link for more details *. It will be a great event for sure! Tomorrow finishing the above creative projects and Thursday teaching the repeat class for the All About Me (I think 2 or 3 spots left, if you wish to join call us at the store 613.745.2215). Pink Art Journal - part 1

I am participating in a Sketchbook circle with some friends and got my self a 3" X 5" Moleskine to do the swap. Yesterday after a day of organizing (Stephane was gone ice fishing with a friend) I needed a creative output... To jump start my creativity and get the flow started for the swap, here's a couple of pages I made in my book. I had a basket of freshly organized embellishments, pink acrylic paint & crackle paint and some gel medium. Here's what I made in a couple of hours. Oh so fun to create without photos.... and in this smaller size!

About 3 hours of work.... not too bad - no rules, just art...

Now the reality is that I will be going to chapters to get my self a second Moleskine to send for the swap.... I don't' think I can detach myself from my first Art Journal.

Here's the fruit of my labor over the weekend! I made 5 of each: main album kit, candy tag (mix brads, buttons & paper clips), ribbon tag, mix paper add-on and sweet paper embellishments. I had so much fun and even made some sales prior of having them posted. I need to finish figuring shipping, therefore come back tomorrow to find the links of where to purchase them! This is by far the highest Mountain top that I have ever been on “Mont Sibillini” near my sister’s village in Italy. I felt on top of the world, closer to God… the fresh air was amazing, beautiful sunny day (ok you can’t really see it with this black & white picture). My Brother, sister and I were reunited (many years since we were just the 3 of us). When I look at the picture… I remember to Live life to the fullest & to seize the moment.

My 2011 word

What better way to introduce my word by sharing my layout about it. Took me a little wile to figure it out but was always going back to that word... OR'GANI∙ZE" in: ... my head ... my body ... my time ... and the "physical" space, basically what surrounds me either at home or at work.

Purging will be one major aspect to get there, all ready started last week no more VCR tapes or deck tapes - one big bag to the curb. We got a new unit for all our DVD's and CD's much better all organized by category, feels good. Now many others steps to achieve!

Was talking to Katie about it at the crop and it's a tangible word, you see results (better than my past ones Balance for 2009 and Action for 2010). Happy about that!

Any tips, pass them on!

Saying goodbye to 2010

Writing this I can’t believe that we are all ready day 5 of 2011 (I wanted to do this since the past week but it just didn’t happen due to the big "TIME" factor!) The holidays were great! When I was putting my “out of office” at my job, I was kinda dreaming and hoping to also put it on my "day to day LIFE". To just do want I wanted to do, spend quality time with Stephane and my family, to really Rest & Relax, put the “creating” aspect on my life on hold…. Well it really happened. YES it did. Here’s a little recap! I pretty much didn’t open my computer (just quickly looked from my phone on emails & a few blogs, therefore sorry if I didn’t reply yet to an email, getting to them now…). I played DS with Stephane many many hours, spend time with my family in New Brunswick – My grand-maman is turning 90 in a couple of weeks so it was great spending Xmas there with my parents, brother and my extended family. The drive was horrible going and coming back, traveling to NB in winter what can you expect! ( almost 15 hours coming back when it's normally 12...) Had a great time on the 31st at Magali, Maxim and Loic for new years (if one day you plan to do the full meal of little hot M&M finger type food for 12 adults – PLAN they aren’t all the same temperature or baking time in the oven – it was a nightmare; but the chocolate fondue desert was heaven!) Didn’t take one photo * ZERO *… now it’s heavier on my conscience of keeping those memories on photo paper and for scrapbooking purposes… But I really wanted to put "it" on hold…. So I need to accept the consequences now!) Back to reality now, day #2 at the job, created some classes since the past week (see following post), thinking of my word of the year since December 30 (I think I have it now…) and happy happy happy that Friday I will be cropping at the “Box” with my girl Katie, Theresa and miss Lorrie (that’s the Scrapbox for those that don’t know and there is a tone of space call and join us 613.745.2215). Saturday a first "Girlz" reunion with Loulou, Linda O & Dawn with drinks, food, Scraps & much fun I am sure! Can’t say goodbye to 2010 without a couple of Highlights Little Sophie’s birth on the 10th of January and that I am the Godmother, My Trip to Italy to visit my sister and her family (traveling with my brother was really great), 6 days in Orlando Celebration V with Stephane (living the full Star Wars fantasy + Disney) & with Mag, Max & Lolo, Taking great workshops with Tim Holtz, Debbie Schuh & Melissa Frances, Teaching & Cropping at the Scrapbox, Creating custom Necklaces (can’t wait to do more…), actually itching to do some right now.... maybe Saturday ;) Well that’s it for now! Little update!

Well it looks like I am having problems trying to update my blog... lately. TIME TIME TIME - is an option that I don't have on my hands right now! So for those following me, have patience, I am trying to get back to on the "Hayride" (Jump on the Bandwagon)! Mellisa Frances - weekend WAS FABULOUS, don't want to rub it in for those that didn't have the chance to come and take the classes or even visit at the Scrapbox on wheels store... She's a fabulous women, with a powerful message to pass as a Brest Cancer Survivor and I had really a great time. It's great to be on the other side of the fence a couple of time a year - Receiving a class and not teaching. I am really grateful for my experience! Need to find time to finish my projects! Last night was my class of the month for the "All About Me Series" - Bellow is the layout, 14 ladies joined me and we had a blast and they are all coming back for the December edition of it! So happy! Sold out - project to come after the w-end!

The Scrapbox is celebrating 3 years of business! Happy to report that we have a week of Celebrations happening at the "Box", my home away from home! After 2 years & half of teaching and creating for the store, I must say that we have carved a great place for creative women to scrap and have just a great time! What a great weekend with friends at The Scrapbox!

Probably went to bed much to late both days but was happy to Scrap for me.
Here's my 4 layouts of the weekend, thanks to Linda for her perfect Bazzill Bling Buttons and to Katie for taking great pics of my this past Halloween!

She even lifted her feet live in the movies or books!

Originally the flower was white - changed with Glimmer Mist, Glimmer Glaze and Black water (the water used to clean a paint brush that was used to apply acrylic black paint * I used that also to change the color of many items on the two witch layouts like the back paper & embellishments)

Just back from Disney~!

Well last week was big trip # 2 of the year!
We went to Florida and enjoyed some beautiful and HOT & HUMIDE Orlando temparature, Celebration V (Star Wars convention) & quality time at some of the Disney's Fabulous parks!

Was good to step away for 8 days and enjoy time with Stephane & our friends. To rent a house was really the best economical way to go when 6 adults are paying. 20$ a night for ea - 4 bedrooms & 3 bathrooms + a pool and screen in backyard. (oupsy just realized I took ZERO pictures of the house... I hope Magali got some!)

For the rest Greedo our cat was really happy to see us back and I am trying to short all our photos. Stephane had his own camera + Mag & her mom had hers.... so those I will only get at the next long weekend.

Some Scrappies from the weekend!

It was great to recharge my battery and scrap some of my Italy pictures during the crops of the past weekend at the Scrapbox!

First up - is some pictures of little Sophie - title: "Little ray of Sunshine"
My sister growing up was called "Rayon de Soleil" and I wanted to translate it and use this nick name for Sophie as it is also just perfect her as for her mom growing up.

I used the March Jenni Bowlin kit and some Stechie extras to tie the layout together! LOVE LOVE LOVE the Bazzill Edges the 6" ones or the 12"! LOVE ♥

Here's one of my Brother and Sebastiano. Love this picture of both of them. Charles-André & Seby were always playing together, beautiful memories of a perfect day!

Also using a Jenni Bowlin kit and some extras!

I have also completed my September All About Me layouts and will be posting them soon!

Lovely weekend here I come!

Well it's mid summer ( I can't believe that we are July 23rd... wow were does the time go....) and what better way to enjoy with great friends! I am feeling much better (not 100%) but I finally am carrying my weight and not dragging like the past 2 weeks!

So this weekend I will enjoy some great cropping with my great Scrapbooking friends Katie, Mellisa, Heather, Natasha aka "# 512" and some of the Scrapbox ladies! I'm HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! I have my classes for August to complete and I really am itching to create layouts with my Italy pictures!

Back from my travels, here is my class for this upcoming Friday!

This is a 12x12 Single Page LO with Mixed Media on Canvas (not stretched canvas over wood - just canvas!) Many techniques and Rich with product!
