We couldn't resist the boxing day specials at Future Shop (got the camera bag, spare battery and grip). I will have lots of time to read the instructions driving back from New Brunswick and be more familiar with it! Combined with Mellisa, Marlene and Laurie's expertise I will be able to take amazing pics! My point and shoot will need to go for repair and will be a good back-up!

Leaving back tomorrow for Montréal (one day early) and will continue my shopping there.... because of the space in my parents van (driving 6 to go back home!!!)

Safely made it!!!

Just signing in to say that we made it safely in New Brunswick! Almost 13 hours later... a few snowy roads ... and saw a few cars upside down in the ditches... but we made it ok!

Our Christmas Traditions....

Every year Stephane and I we take our Christmas picture for the cards that we send to family and friends... and this was the one that we selected for Xmas 2008!

I made this layout with "my favorite Christmas paper line" of this year... the "Fa la la" by Making Memories! Pretty much every thing on this page is by them except a vintage tag & pin, ribbon and this amazing Prima Poinsettia (from last year release).

I have some journaling under the scalloped circle and I used a piece of scraps from the cards that I made the "Swiss Dot" Cuddle Bug green strip. Love that new tool, I just wish they would event it 12 X 12!

Enjoy your w-end, I am heading home to Montréal tonight after work and then tomorrow we are driving to New Brunswick for the holidays. We will be 6 in the family van: my parents, me and Stephane and my brother with his girlfriend!!! A true tradition since we are kids.... 12 hours from Montreal.... lets hope that the roads and winter conditions are with us!

And it's snowing again!

Ohhhhhhh the joy of driving in the snow!
It took me the full hour this AM to drive down town to drop off Stephane and his colleague and to go to work.

Arrived on time, but wasn't able to stop for coffee.... and boy did I needed it!
So last night.... I made a few things.... After making over 60 cards for family and friends, I wanted to do a simple batch of cards for my colleagues at work.Very simple, pictures of ornaments I took last year + glittered paper, that's super simple, but very classic and I know that the girls at work will love them! So 20 cards later here are some of the 5 models I made.

Then I finished my ATC's for December.

Ohhhhhh I forgot to bring the layout I made at the crop last Sunday, so I will have to update that tomorrow!

And here are my ATC's for December for the Scrapbox swap! I needed to finish them before leaving for new Brunswick!

and on a final note.... just wanted to share the happy moment of Stephane.... he made it in the 501st Star Wars Legion a few weeks ago and now he is working on finalizing his second costume as a Tie Pilot. I am so proud of him! He custom painted his gun for a toy gun, added extra lights and pieces, modified his helmet... a few little things to finish and he will be ready for the next even with his own costume.... what's next... I think he is planing on the Biker Scout costume....

What a great passion, a great way to get creative/craftiness and to also and a great way to give back to the community!

A Touch of Magic!

Last week was really a hectic week!

So happy that it's over! Retired my Fa la la class after teaching it 3 times! Wow.... it was a really popular acrylic book and happy that everyone that took the class loved it! A big thanks for Mellisa for picking up some necessary tools to complete the last class... Merci darling!

Saturday was my Xmas party at work, we had lots of fun and Sunday we took it easy! Yesterday both Stephane and I were sick and stayed home. I also had to bring my car to the garage after trying to start it many times during the day... my battery was "capout"! And they changed my gas trap so now I don't need to open my truck every single time that I need to put gas! yeah... it was under warranty!

I managed to create 1 page Sunday.... ouffff it felt good! I almost finished all my Xmas cards, now I need to signed them and mail them out.

Meg and Renee came to visit.... what a delight! They are just back from Silver Bella and we had so much to talk about! Ohhhh I see in my future a new event to add to the series of event that I will be attending in 2009! I have booked the Vicki and Donna event at Smith Falls, Navcan with my girls in April and now I really want to go to Silver Bella in November!

A new class is available for December at the Scrapbox! Thursday Dec 11 from 6 to 9pm! "Santa's Helper" is a 2 Page LO that fuses two very stylish paper lines: Rusty Pickle's "Christmas" and SEI's "Alpine Frost"! This would be a perfect class to take to display you or your love ones in Red Velvety Splendor! Call the store at 613-745-2215 to reserve your spot!

And finally.... I just wanted to announce that I have caved..... yes.... I did... and decided to join the "cult" of the Cuttlebug lovers! Mine is not named yet.... I need to find the perfect name for it (as per the tradition at the Scrapbox!) I made these 4 wonderful cards and used the most yummiest products on them! From the Distress Stickles, Crackle Paint and Ditress Inks (all by Tim Holtz) to the Stardust and Gel Pens... the amazing embossed papers (folders used: Swiss Dots, Bird and Swirls, Snow Dots and Snowflakes) are just shinning their best! I also used the Fancy Pants Blissful Season stamp on each cards... what the perfect combo! The cards will be featured at the store! My favorite one "Holiday Magic" love the gel pen on part of the raised surface of the green cardstock.... Love Love Love!!! You can probably not notice but on the pearl paper for the red cards all the raised surface is enhance with the Stardust pen.... really lovely and glittery!

Today it's Thursday.... a big w-end in the works!

A few big things are happening!
here's my list for today....

• Stephane is now a official 501st Star Wars member and will be participating in the Help Santa Toy Parade this Saturday being part of the float (I think middle section) with the Local Squad.... Really exiting, however I will have to miss this event this time around, I will be teaching the Fa La La class #2 at the Scrapbox, a full group is attending!
• Magali, Maxime, Loic and Vincent (Maxime's brother) will be joining us for the w-end and hitting the down town area to see the parade
• Tomorrow is my "Scrapbooking Quilt" class at the store and I just can't wait.... A group of friends of my WW buddy Julie are coming to take the class.
• Blackburn crop on Sunday, will try to work on my Xmas cards!!!!! Yes... I'm not sure about my numbers yet..... but it's going to be lots!
• Next Wednesday on the 26 of November at the Scrapbox Jenn is opening the studio to do a "signing event" of my first layout being published in the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine, * insert really happy moment here*
• And.... I finished my SEI double page layout for a class in December and will try to post it tomorrow... it's currently displayed at the store!

Ya.Ya book!

2 weekends ago we had a get-together at Tanya's new home and we started this little Make and Take with Mellisa, Rachel and Tanya's supplies! Katie all ready had hers completed last week!!!!

I prepped all the mini accordion albums and then we made them on the spot. We had to completed the decorations at home with our supplies.... therefore making them all different!

I gave mine less an Asian look than Katie's... I went through all my supplies and played with things that I was dying to use!

I completed mine during the w-end and here's my version of our mini albums!

Saturday, Stephane surprised me in coming home earlier and we went at Laurie's "surprise" party we by mistake... told her during the all night crop at the Scrapbox! We had lots of fun and can't wait to see the pics that D took! Also wanted to wish you... Laurie all my best wishes on your Birthday today * insert HUGS and kisses here! *

I finally got a batch of pictures from my sister (merci papa).... and here is my little nephew Sebastiano sleeping! I will call her tomorrow to make sure that she takes a few more (mmmm like 200please)...of the little toes, hands.... I can't wait to scrap them! He is so precious!

New ATC's and Remember.... Today 11-11-08

They are so addictive!!! I guess it's the same thing.... like making cards... but this is so fun to trade afterwards!

Sunday I made a batch of 12 for the Fabric Swap "Take 2" and had extra papers all ready cut and decided to make a separate batch of 6 called "Seeds of Friendship"... love the hydrangea paper flower! And the 6 black and silver ones "Sparkle Touch" were also completed last week. From this batch of 12 I have mailed one for Catherine, I owed 6 to my swap girls at the Scrapbox (Janet, Anne, Elizabeth, Debbie and Monica) because I was in love with a few extra ones that the girls brought at the last swap and I am also just giving 2 xtra ones... to Jenn and Tammy (they were my "enablers" to start making ATC's!)

A special note to.... Rachel, to all the soldiers around the worlds and to family and friends of those who lost love ones, I am sending positive thoughts today towards all of you and also thanking you for what you are doing for our Country and all of us. A big thanks from the bottom of my *heart*.

W-end recep + Fabric Swap "Take 2"!

A great w-end! Friday night I had a full class for the first Fa la la Album! We had lots of fun and the girls really created all a beautiful album! Saturday was cleaning time at home... on going until it's done! I think I need a full week off of all my duties to make it happen! Then I prep my contribution to our ya.ya "Asian" theme diner at Tanya's! We had lots of fun and I prepped with Mell's supplies a wonderful mini accordion album for the girls! Now we need to all finish it at home and share it once completed! We went to bed a tad late.... but with all the lovely Candy Apple Martini's... we had a great short night of sleep!

Yesterday I prepared my Fabric Swap "Take 2"(unfortunately our first package that left went missing) and I decided to send a new batch with ATC's matching! Stephane arrived from hunting and didn't get anything but is leaving again Wednesday with the boys and will only return next Sunday.

I'm a "Zia".... in means "Aunt" in Italian!!!!

I came back from a day of running around to a great voicemail form my mom announcing me that my sister Karoline had her little baby boy "Sebastiano" today at noon (Italy time)! He weights 7.05 lbs, no clue how tall he is. From the time the water broke, they rush to the hospital (the past week... she was going back and fort to the hospital every to day to evaluate the "liquids", they were really low...) and the delivery took 20 minutes.

I am so happy that all went well and that I was able to talk to her on Friday morning, sending her good vibes since then, so all went well.

We will miss them from here, but sending them lots of LOVE!
Need to send the care package ASAP Monday morning!

My mom's 60th b-day is tomorrow only a few hours appart! Bonne Fête maman, je t'aime.

Halloween Fun!!!!

Here are my ATC's for the Scrapbox! Mailed also a few days ago one of them to Catherine and will prep a few more this w-end to have them ready for futur swaps!!!! :) Love to make them! It's a few hours (if you do almost 20) but love the "chain work" wile creating them! I made them directly on a playing card (oup's forgot to take that side of the ATC) and used Crackle Paint by Tim Holtz, Inks, Making Memories Acrylic Stamps, Bazzill scallops stripes, Heidi Swapp Jet Bling and the glitter foams also by Making Memories!

Halloween is a big thing where I work! Every department dresses up and selects a theme and almost all the employees dresses up! it's amazing all the energy that "WE" big kids put in decorating also our cubicles! A few years ago we were even featured on CTV during the lunch segment! Here's a few pics that i wanted to share.....

The full customer service center decorated and we had our lights closed from 10 am to noon when all the other departments came and visited!
