A few things to share!

Happy Wednesday!

I completed these cute cards for the store last Sunday made with the Making Memories "Flower Patch" collection and totally forgot to upload them on my blog! Oup's! This paper collection is not only good for Easter, but for b-days projects, thank you cards... you name it! To follow: Layouts!

Finally got my hands on a 2" circle punch and was able to finish this layout!
I saw a layout in the last Scrapbook Trends and remembered that I had those Hambly overlays and was really inspired to do one also! Used the Making Memories "Love Notes" collection and added a few of my other favorites. Also to take the picture I added the white cardstock in the back if not the background would be the dark table.

And later today will update with my mini created with the Basic Grey "Porcelain" line! Perfect project for little or older girls, flowers or birds!

Have a great day!
Hugs,

yeahhhhhh it's Friday!

Noting creative to report for the past few days....
I worked the past 2 evenings at the store.... When you start your working day at 7h30... then on Thursday with the lovely white stuff coming down on us {insert 1h30 in the trafic, when it takes normally tops 30 minutes to drive from day job to the store...} and with the visit of President Obama {insert yet again... 1h30 in traffic due to roads being closed} then working up to about 9h30 - 10.... the days goes by really fast! If only I could have had a paper trimmer, inks a few punches and some adhesives I could have made something really cute with being stuck in the traffic!

OK what to expect in the next week from me....
  • 1 mini album with the Porcelain line from Basic Grey for classes at the Scrapbox in March.
  • 1 single and 1 double page layout + 4 cards with the new Flower Patch collection from Making Memories also for the store.
  • The Prima "Frugal" Contest now extended until February 28th... if I have time!
  • Packing for my next weekend getaway with Katie, Rach, Laurie, Karen... and other friends for the Vicki B retreat in Smiths Falls - will try to find the perfect project to do... probably a mini album with some Prima Paintables Acetates (love love love, probably my new favorite technique), my fabric swap album and some ATC's! My goal is to be balanced and organized for once!

Tonight if all goes well (need to call my parents... Stephane is sick and we don't want to contaminate my parents) we are going for the w-end in MTL! Happy to see also Magali, Maxime and Loic for the w-end!

Hugs, kisses, happy Friday and enjoy your w-end!

My Bad Girls Application

As Katie mentioned on her blog this morning... same here... I was not selected, but really happy of what I have created for this open call. I went out of my box for 1 layout for sure... the one about my emotions of having my sister far away... And my project I am totally happy about it and will probably.... mmmmmm.... ohhhh.... information to follow!!! :)

Enjoy!

3 Manufactures LO:
Papers from Making Memories, Crate paper, Basic Grey, Handmade paper from "Deser" and doily that was glimmer misted. A tones of embellies from Heidi Swapp, K & Co, Prima, Making Memories, MME and so much more!
_________
"WOW" LO:
Played mostly with the Sabrina paper line from Making Memories and wanted on of my signature "big" flowers from Prima and the feather... was just the perfect touch! Self portrait picture of a few summers ago, wearing a short wig and yes fake eye lashes!!
_________
And the one that I really struggle with.. wanted the journaling to do the work, less is more...
Personal LO:

Journaling: If only I could jump on the wings of a butterfly to visit my little sister in Italy (yes I put it in French on the layout!) Follow your heart is what I told her even if it was breaking mine. Not able to see her every day is now the reality. I have to remember all the happy moments and cherish all the ones to come.

*** This one I will redo.... because their so much more I wanted to write... and will just recreate a new one and that will probably help me again in this struggle that I have to have my sister living far away.
________
Project:

Visited one of my favorite Antique store and picked up the 1880’s hinge, doorknob and chandelier crystal. I wanted to represent 3 sides of my scrapbooking… the vintage side, layered and more clean lines… in 1 project! Making this project brought me back to my florist years (5 years in total), playing with the hot glue gun, silk flowers, bird nest… what a great feeling. I always painted (more watercolor) but now I have become a lover of the acrylics. Multi layers of papers are displayed on the top canvas with dry brushing in different tones. When opening the door on the left side I made a little collage to attach on the chicken wire and on the right side wanted to have a clean and simple layout to complete the project. * Project more than 24" high *

And voilà... this was my application!
_______________
Yesterday Stephane and I went to Watertown for V-day, had a great day together, love our road trips! Extra bonus, we took the truck, so I didn't have to drive! Ended our day at Apple's Bee and it was so good! Tonight he's preparing a great diner, Fillet Mignon, shrimps, brownies and strawberries! Mmmmmmm
Hugs and have a great week!

And it's Monday!

Busy w-end!

I had a blast at the Scrapbox crop (more quiet group than the usual;.... but productive)! Thanks Karen for the great day together!

In total with Sunday I made 2 layouts + 1 major big project involving paint + 3 layout in 1... Soon I will be more able to share, because it's for my Bad Girls application and until the deadline I'm keeping the privilege to only the ones that where at the crop... because they may have seen a few of my projects in the works! A few fine tuning for all of them and then 1 to go!

It's the Love Notes Chipboard Album Class this Friday and I think theirs a few spots left, so if you didn't do it yet and you wish to take the class please call Jenn at the store 613-745-2215!

Have a great week!

Simply Handmade publication - Can you feel my excitement

It's finally here!

What a total surprise yesterday when I stopped by at Micheals to see if the magazine was in (was going twice a week since the 3 past weeks).... Wow total shock when I opened the page listed in the table of content... a full section dedicated to my project! 7 pages with the cover page! 7...still really can't believe it!

Paige Evans (Assistant Editor for Simply Handmade) recreated the different steps to create the scrapbook quilt featured at page 6 and 7 of the section.

I was doing the biggest happy dance ever yesterday, really thinking that at most I would have maybe 2 pages in the mag! True Kodak moment minus the camera!

And today Roberta took a few pics for me to be able to showcase this moment on my blog and potentially on a future layout! Thanks Ro for the pics!

ohhhh a bit close and with the reflexion of the flash...
yes... acting silly here, but found it funny!

And the final touch.... I was also one of the designer listed in the Editor's Letter! What a bonus!

Have a great w-end!
Cropping tomorrow at the pampered crop of the Scrapbox, if you are in the area, make sure to stop by!

Last days recap!

And what's new with me... you ask?!?!?
Well let's back track the few last days to share all the little details....

  • Last Friday we had a ya-ya diner (Mellisa, Katie, Tanya and me... minus Rach) at Le Caveau de Szechwan... oh so good. Flat rate of 19.95 and you can order anything from the menu...mmmm and my favorite one was the Sesame Beef! ohhhh so good! Then we went for desert at the East side Mario, we were just not ready to go home. Katie stayed overnight at my place and we unpacked my Bad Girl swap kits and went to bed.

  • Saturday I worked at the store from 10h30 to 6 and arrived around 7 to rest for the evening, made my layout for Mellisa (Superbowl 2008 owing's!) but I forgot to take a picture... Mell when you have a chance can you please send me a pic of the layout, please and thanks!

  • Sunday was our annual get together at Mellisa and Kevin! We had big plans to make our samples of TH products, but instead we surfed the net for some great YouTube videos of CHA or just cool techniques! And well my luck as turned and I was victorious (well my chosen team the Steelers won!0 Will not rub it in.... But now Mellisa has from that Sunday 364 days to complete a layout with my chosen pictures! Will have to do a little photo shot you and me darling!

  • Monday did "sweet nothing"... watched TV in bed all evening!

  • Yesterday... was a great evening with great girls! First off Dorrie... who I must say... is the ONE that introduced me to scrapbooking about 6 years ago... So please join me in thanking her, because I would probably not be blogging, teaching or most importantly having the close friends that I currently have. She use to work with me here at Fisher and since that time we are always bumping in each other in scrapbooking "grounds". I hope we will be seeing each other more, it's always a pleasure spending time with you! Then Laurie.... a true sunshine in my life. So happy to have you in my close circle of friends and every minute spend with you I am truly blessed. An addition to the group last night was Karen, she's so sweet! She took a few of my classes (beautiful job on the mirror album by the way) and she is friends with Dorrie since their 8 years old! So happy that you came and I can't wait to spend some time at the Ultra pampered "Scrapbox" crop this w-end! We were missing our Janet that was really under the weather and opted to stay home (hope your feeling better). Moxie's was great! Amazing drinks, food and good laughs! A few pictures to remember the moment and to scrap! Next time we are going to go closer to the west side of the city... probably mmmm The Keg! Never been there too, Moxie's was my first time and it was really delicious! I just have to say WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO girls!!!!

  • On the scrapbooking front, planning to attack my Bad Grils DT application in the next days! I have all my ideas aligned and it's just the "TIME" factor that is not playing in my favor!

Leaving you with a few pictures....of last night!

Dorrie and Laurie

Karen and me

Us 4! Thanks Chads for thanking the picture!!!!
Enjoy your Wednesday and hoping to share a few new things soon!
