ok it's late... but i had to post!

A few days ago...last Friday to be precise, after having my fabulous haircut I went to visit the store... After having the most wonderful welcome by Jenn... I was really surprised to find the full 5 new lines of Basic Grey (Eva, Offbeat, Granola, Urbain Prairie and Ambrosia) in the "Scrapbox" house! They were all snuggle one against the others in 4 boxes to unpack!

However Jenn had a plan in mind... She was hosting a b-day girl party and the girls were going to make fun little tins to bring home. Let me put you i contexte...When I started in last May designing for the store, Jenn really wanted a tin decorated for her "blank envelops" and was hinting for me to take the challenge. This was yet done... until last Friday! "The Tin" made his move.... and landed in my hands! Now it was a "Stickle Tin" that needed some TLC! ohhhhhh boy... This was actually my first Tin that I had to embellish and I just completely covered in a rainbow of Stickles and use the new Urbain Prairie line! I needed to keep it simple as the little girls were going to reproduce it the following morning! Well let me tell you less than 25 minutes later it's was all done and drying (I really covered it with stickles!)

I was working the following morning and I almost imputed all the new BG in the system and I can now say that I am a "certified" Scrapbox clerk to add new yummies on the wall! I will pass in a few weeks a ISO certification to confirm my abilities and my certificate will be located at the back of the cash!!!!

Now to my treat that i received from Rachel! At Navcan just before our departure, Rach gave me this layout just to put a extra smile on my face! Thanks Rach I love it! Will start up a new album just for it, i realize that I don't have small layouts! FYI- I look really tired on this photo taken mmm 3 years ago at your first official ya.ya b-day event at Rachel's ! A few "wobblies' didn't help the ohhh very natural look!

OK got to go to bed....

Bad Girls Class #3 - Less is more

This is my entry for class #3 on Bad girls hosted by Miss Sri Sams -Less is more! Ouffffff I had a concept that I fine tuned all week! I was waiting for Friday... I had a hair salon appointment and wanted to go to the local mall and take photos in a photo booth!

This is less common for me to leave "white space" however I'm really please with the result! To "control my space" I had to make wise decisions in choosing my embellishments! I had so much more that I wanted to add... such as: gaffer tape, more buttons, a little tag for the date, dew drops, paper clip, die cut edge from a Sassa Frass paper, more and more layers of pattern papers.... the list goes on and on!

I tried my best to "keep it simple" and that the focus stayed on the pictures by creating the brads circle and group of perfectly selected embellishments!

I wanted an "asymmetrical layout" and to "create an 90° angle" with the papers I selected, the ribbons, photo strip and the placement of the title.

I used the same color palette throughout the layout, repeated the circle shapes (buttons, brads, stamp, stick pin, circle with the brads and pattern on the paper) to created "unity".

To "balance" the heavier right bottom corner, I added this little "topper" on the left corner.

Hope you enjoy my new haircut.... ohhhhhhh boy do I love it! I had problems scheduling my appointment with my dear Jean-Francois for about 2 months, he is getting really busy and the 4h30 hours spent there was well worth it! Thanks to Jenn at the Store for playing along even if she didn't had anymore voice to scream "in delight" when she saw me!

Have a great Sunday, here's it's major fall clean up, mix with reorganization of the scraproom and then it's create new pages with the Offbeat line for the store and my Fa la la acrylic album for my November class!

Navcan w-end and Bad Girls Top Designer class #2

What a great w-end!
Did I do lost? That is the question!
I made my self a TO DO list.... and I completed 3 on the list! Yes it was a big list, but I needed at lease 2 of them done and they were completed when I left Navcan on Sunday!

We had lots of fun! Friday started with a surprise visit from Mellisa (that was not able to stay for the w-end, she was the photographer for a wedding, I hope it went well...). We had diner, went for some shopping and came back to the conference center.

I worked on my Eva class (photo's to follow) and we were in bed around 3am! Follow up with Saturday a fun day full of drinks and creating! What a evening! We went to the Bar and I was "the bar tender" on dutie to help in the back of the bar because we had to have our traditional "Russian Roulette" to start our evening! 12 to make and the Bar tender didn't know how to make the shoot! Then the evening continued... and Katie entertained us with a jump in the fountain and with new trendy Fashion tips for us to remember! Went to bed past 3h30!

Sunday, our juices were somewhat slower and the day past really fast but for me nothing major was accomplish! And then we had to come back home! I had a great time driving up with my new chauffeur aka Katie and she did a marvelous job! Thanks for also bunking with me and for all the special moments we had during the w-end!

Laurie was with us for the first time and I am sure that she really enjoyed her self and she fits right in with our little group! Laurie it was also great to spend the w-end with you!

Tanya was able to join us Saturday mid afternoon and even if she forgot all the photo's that she wanted to scrap, she made the most adorable little painting on pages of a old book... precious little masterpieces!

I was also really happy to receive a gorgeous layout made by Rachel and I will update it later today once I am able to take a good picture of it!

It was also really great to see and spend time with all the "Lady bugs" friends during the w-end: Suzane, Sandy, Jan, Karen and Tracy! Marlene had family visiting and a big race yesterday and was not able to make it.

On other news... I made it trough the next round for the Bad Girls Top Designer class #2! I'm really happy of my layout I made! see bellow! I am not sure yet what's the next class but wish me luck!

Have a great week everyone!
Hugs

Bad Girls Top Designer: Class One (layering)

This is my entry for class one of BAD GIRLS TOP DESIGNER contest. The class assignment this week was to layer. I used multiple pieces of papers that were stitched on my back piece of Kraft paper. Then added a piece of corrugated box and used Getso to add a extra layer. Over it again used 2 other pieces of paper and attached my picture of chipboard. Used my sewing machine to create a ruffle for one piece of ribbon and added extra ribbons, paper foliage and bling over lapping on it. After I used 4 different tag to set the background for my title. the 2 extra large buttons were set together with a beautiful fabric brad. Under that I added a Basic Grey book plate and added my title. "Sweet" was layered ans "Serenity" as well and popped with foam dots. Semi-layered the rub-on on the paper, added the flower, photo turns, paper clip and dew drops!

And voila!
Enjoy your Sunday, the ya.ya's had a blast last night and I leaving shortly for Toronto!

A little ATC for Catherine Matthews-Scanlon!

I completely forgot to share the little ATC I made for Catherine Matthews-Scanlon during the w-end!

I made this little series of 2 one named "Enjoy" for Catherine and "Beautiful" for me to keep as a memento! I do not sew as good as she can, but at lease I gave it a try! After my w-end of scrapping for my Jenni Bowlin application I had the sewing machine all set up to add a little touch! I also made the back ground paper with a small piece of a corrugated box and with multiple stamped image of the stamp that was in the Jenni B Kit. Oh I {heart} this stamp! Lacquered the letter and voila!

I'm going on my lunch break to post it off to you! You should see it soon! I hope you like it!
Enjoy

My application for the Guest Designer spot for Jenni Bowlin

Here are the projects that I have created for the Guest Designer Contest on the Jenni Bowling blog. You needed to use the August Paper Crafting Kit. I really had lots of fun making these 2 pieces of Art!

Second project is my Scrapbooking Quilt. This project can be hanged on the wall and all 9 squares are a separate mini layout of 4" X 4". I have used part of the packaging of the Making Memories “Glitter Letters” and the box that the kit was sent to me in! Recycling and using your imagination goes a long way... Try it!

Enjoy & have a great week,
Hug and kisses

Cupcakes & Coffee, Scrapbox and a special Thanks!

I wanted to share 3 wonderful things with you! It's not an infomercial.... I just want to share a few things that makes me happy currently!

1. When I saw this Thursday night on Wilna's blog it made me really happy~! What girl doesn't like cupcakes? Sweet, pretty, colorful and ohhhh so tasteful!
Make sure that if you wish to join this class to view Wilna's blog or the info on my side bar. Monday is the day! Love her concept and I will be joining the fun on Monday!!!

2. Wow... at The Scrapbox lots is happening!!! Lots of products are arriving: Making Memories Fa La La, 3 lines from Basic Grey (Eva, Ambrosia and Offbeat), Sonoma by Scenic Route, Spellbound by Making Memories; just to name a few! That means new classes are also being created to showcase these wonderful paper lines! Yeahhh!

On my agenda for September at the Scrapbox:
  • Sept 18 - " A Touch of Citrus Bling" (* 1 spot left)
  • Sept 25 - "Passport" paper line by Making Memories class #2 * sold out * all 14 spots! Therefore we opened a new date on October 2nd for class #3!

Last night was the first Passport class, the ladies really had fun! I had a little scare because of a "certain ribbon" but at the end the ladies left with a beautiful mini album ready to decorate and place pictures! What a wonderful line, that's the consensus from all! Thanks to all 14 ladies: Laurie, Marlene, Barb, Lynda, Louise, Anya, Nancy, Marie and her mom Jeannine, Lisette, Claire, Bonnie, Joanne and Lorrie! Hope you had fun! For the "tool invention" that Stéphane made, I will ask Stéphane (if he wish to create more) and Jenn (if something can be done to have some at the store), details to follow!

That brings October!

  • Oct 2nd - "Passort" class #3
  • Oct 3rd - "Sonoma" accordion album * Sold out in 3 days* new date opened Oct 30th - Make sure to call to reserve your spot for class #2

  • Oct 24th - "Spellbound" 2 page layout - sample will be in the store this upcoming Wednesday
  • Oct 30th - "Sonoma" class #2

And if we look at November, I don't know the date yet, but I will be teaching an amazing acrylic Album with the Fa La La "fabulous" paper line by Making Memories! Details to follow on the Scrapbox blog or website!

That brings...

3. The biggest and warmest Thank you to all the ladies that surround me at the "Box" (what I like to call it personally) really it is my second home: The Scrapbox! I love being part of the team there, thanks Jenn for this wonderful opportunity. I am meeting such wonderful women there and we are all sharing one single thing in common: The love of Creating! It could be for their children, conserving memories, for a special gift or just for them self!

Thank you to all of you that visit my blog and leave comments or just tells me that they visited. I truly appreciate it!

I visited the store today (in my mind I was only going there for about 30 minutes), left twice out the door to just come back and chat some more! I just didn't what to leave! OK now I will go back to my creating... today it's for me, I playing with my Jenni Bowlin kit! Will share tomorrow or Monday at the latest! Tomorrow it's Spellbound for the store!

Enjoy your w-end! Again a long post! ;)

The w-end was really busy!

  • Then @ 5pm we (Magali and I) started to get ready to go at Celine's Dion concert! A few hours later we were ready to leave! We had to take a few pictures (to follow) and off we went! What a great concert and Veronique Dicaire was opening and she was really great! We took lots of pictures and we had good seat section 116 row O sets 5 and 6. Came back to our boys (as this was our Valentines gift and girls night out) and thanks them for the wonderful evening we had!
  • Monday was our time to celebrate my brothers b-day and my parents wedding anniversary for breakfast. Good family time (mmmmmm no pictures taken, that's strange...) and then my decided to enjoy the pool again at Magali's before coming back home to eat diner with my IL.
Soooo that's it.... for those who are keeping track for my "to do's" I only have my Jenni Bowlin projects to do and then a few more things were lately added to my list... This will be shared later this week... like oher future classes at the Scrapbox and much more ;) !
